Mamoru Chiba is a second year student at Moto-Azabu Private High School. He lives by himself in an apartment building in Tokyo. Mamoru is described as the best, too perfect, the smartest student in the school, good at every sport and someone who is really nice to underclassmen.

Mamoru has short neat black hair and deep blue eyes. He usually wears his school uniform and occasionally glasses. Though, he only wears them when reading. He usually has a neutral face, making it hard to tell what he's thinking.
-) Tuxedo Mask
In his Tuxedo Mask form, he wears a top hat with white glasses, with a black suit with a cape with red insides. He wears black howard walks, and two gold sun pendants, one on his neck and one at his waist. He disguises himself to support the series' central heroines, the Sailor Guardians. Wearing a mask to conceal his identity, he interferes with enemy operations, offers the Sailor Guardians advice, and sometimes physically aids them in battle.
